Michael Ungar
Michael Ungar, Ph.D., is a Family Therapist and Professor of Social Work at Dalhousie University, where he holds a prestigious national Research Chair in Child, Family, and Community Resilience. A dynamic storyteller, Dr. Ungar’s presentations and research focus on resilience across cultures worldwide, making him the most cited scholar in his field. His work guides numerous educational institutions, government agencies, and non-profits in nurturing resilience among children and adults. He is the author of 18 books, including his recent works The Limits of Resilience: Knowing When to Persevere, When to Change, and When to Quit and Change Your World: The Science of Resilience and the True Path to Success. Dr. Ungar has received multiple awards for his scholarship and community contributions, including the Canadian Association of Social Workers National Distinguished Service Award, and he has been named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
